The road to Luang Prabang - Laos travel blog
(Laos travel from a blogger) The road to Luang Prabang in is long but does not finish to be entertaining. Vang Vieng to offer landscapes encountered under all shades of brown: light brown track and dust that covers everything beige houses with bamboo walls and roofs of straw in front of which are crammed baskets and woven baskets, ocher dried by the lack of rain landscape, heat and covered with a thin layer of dust, dark brown dress cows and buffaloes that you come from either side of the road ... then brown yields Instead green from time to time when a favor of a more humid area, we see appear green fields and evergreen trees on which slice the red punctate ca track and spots of green leaves banana. Scattered, lotus flowers that nestle in each water point bring a touch bright pink overall.
And the sky is white. The more we approach Vang Vieng and it seems to become hazy horizon and cut all perspectives. And karst cliffs of Vang Vieng appear as outputs of a dream. And then the blue dominates but not a bright blue, pale blue, paste, which fades and subtly hints at the farthest reliefs to blend them into a mist that covers everything and will absorb up to a glowing sun , yet still high in the sky, to put it in its cottony envelope, thus depriving us of the colors of the sunset. The same fate is reserved for stars that do not shine in the sky.
Vang Vieng after the road is still long for Luang Prabang and the landscape changes dramatically. The track gradually sinks into the mountain, a succession of corners that would promise a great view if the fog did not cover the valleys. The decor is lunar, the parts of the mountain burned put the bare earth, a land turned black, ash, veined ca and ocher and red runs that contrast with the dark and plying between spectra of stunted trees and consumed . Brulis season began clearing and shaping a new landscape, sacrificed to crops come natural. Is this smoke veil the sun and the sky mouth? Probably in part. And mountains in which nestles Luang Prabang we still see that the first reliefs, always feel this dream a little hazy around the city of mystery and smoke reminder that we do not travel in a postcard but in a country with its own realities and constraints, climatic or economic.
